OEM / ODM Custom-Cut Bar LCD Displays | Any Size, Engineered to Your Spec

Your space is not 16:9. Your display shouldn't be either.HITULCD turns standard open-cell panels into stretched bar LCDs cut to the exact width, height and aspect ratio your project needs, with the driver board, backlight, bezel and sealing engineered as one module.

Send Your Dimensions for a Feasibility Review · WhatsApp / WeChat Engineer

Why Custom-Cut Bar Displays?

Standard monitor and TV sizes leave gaps in the places where information is actually needed: shelf edges, aisle headers, bus ceilings, elevator lobbies, equipment fascias, control-panel strips and under-cabinet bars. Buyers and project managers in these markets tell us the same things:

  • The space is fixed, the display must adapt. Fitting a 16:9 screen into a 32:9 or 12:1 opening wastes area or forces an expensive custom enclosure.

  • Catalog bar sizes rarely match. Off-the-shelf stretched displays come in a handful of sizes. Your mechanical drawing has its own.

  • Project volumes need stable supply. A one-off sample is easy; a repeatable, validated, multi-year program is the hard part.

  • Reliability must survive the field. Cut edges, sealing and optics must hold up in retail lighting, vehicle vibration and temperature swings.

Our answer: we cut to your size, then validate and build it at volume.

What We Can Do for You

Custom Cutting for Any Bar Size

Tell us the active area or outline you need. Our engineers select the best-fit source panel and cutting layout to deliver it, from compact bars to full-width 1.2 m+ strips.

ParameterRange We Support
Length / widthCustom, defined by your drawing (subject to source-panel feasibility)
Aspect ratioTypical 16:3, 24:9, 32:9, 12:1 and project-specific ratios
Source panelsOpen-cell panels from small formats up to 86" class
ResolutionMatched to the cut area; standard and 4K-width options (e.g. 1920×540, 3840×1080, 3840×1440, 3840×1620)
Brightness500 to 3000 nits depending on backlight design
Cutting toleranceTypically ±0.2 mm; tighter per drawing review

Existing proven formats you can start from:49.5" 3840×1080 (32:9) · 50.8" 3840×1440 · 51.7" 3840×1620, with more in the Stretched Bar Display range.

Honest feasibility note: "Any size" means any size that fits within the physical limits of the source panel and its driver/fan-out area. Every request starts with a feasibility review, so you know what is achievable before you commit to samples or tooling.

ODM: Beyond the Panel

We don't just hand over a cut panel. We deliver a working display module:

How Our Cutting Process Works

Step 1: Requirements. You share the target dimensions, resolution, brightness, interface, environment and volume.

Step 2: Feasibility review. We check the cut lines against the source panel's Gate/Source routing and TFT array, confirm active-area placement, and recommend the cutting method: mechanical wheel cutting or ultra-fast laser cutting. You receive a written feasibility summary.

Step 3: Cut-and-seal engineering. We define the cut plan, edge-quality criteria and the secondary sealing process (UV-cured edge sealing) to protect against moisture ingress and liquid-crystal leakage.

Step 4: Samples (typically 4–6 weeks). First-article units, with optical check for edge light leakage and color shift.

Step 5: Validation. Reference reliability plan based on IEC 60068 and ISTA 2A practice:

TestTypical Condition
High-temperature storage70 °C, 240 h
Low-temperature storage-20 °C, 240 h
Damp heat60 °C / 90% RH, up to 85 °C / 85% RH per project
Thermal shock-20 °C ↔ 70 °C, 30 cycles
Vibration / drop (packaged)Per ISTA 2A

Step 6: Mass production. Repeatable build, incoming and outgoing inspection records, and traceable lots. Standard lead time is 2–3 weeks; custom programs 4–6 weeks.

Product Overview

The HT495HBM is a 49.5-inch ultra-wide bar-type LCD module with a 32:9 aspect ratio, derived from a 55" open-cell panel using a precision half-cut process and paired with a ready-to-use HDMI/VGA control board. Its 1209.6 × 340.2 mm active area and 20 mm profile let integrators fit a full-width information display into spaces where a standard 16:9 screen simply does not fit: shelf edges, aisle headers, bus interiors, control-room strips, kiosks and wall-mounted information bars.

With IPS technology and 89°/89° viewing angles in all four directions, content stays readable and color-consistent from any side. The 1000-nit WLED backlight keeps text and imagery legible in bright retail environments, shop windows and transit cabins.

Because HITULCD manufactures the module directly, your engineering team can discuss resolution, brightness, interface, bezel and mechanical integration with the people who build it, with no trading-company layer in between.

Engineering FAQ: Half-Cut Panel Questions We Hear Most

Our customers' engineering and quality teams usually ask the following when evaluating cut-format LCDs. Here is how we approach each point.

1. Process Feasibility and Cutting

Which cutting method do you use, and what tolerances can you hold?We select the method per project: mechanical wheel cutting for standard straight-line bar formats, and ultra-fast laser cutting where tighter edge quality or complex outlines are required. Typical cutting tolerance is ±0.2 mm on outline dimensions; tighter tolerances can be evaluated per drawing.

Will the cut interfere with the Gate / Source routing or the TFT array area?Cut lines are always planned outside the active area and clear of the Gate/Source fan-out and the TFT array. We verify this against the original panel layout before any cut is made.

What do you need from us for feasibility review?

  • Target outline dimensions and tolerances

  • Required resolution and active area

  • Mechanical drawing (DXF / STEP / PDF)

  • Interface and driver requirements

  • Brightness, operating temperature and environment

  • Estimated annual volume

What edge quality can we expect after cutting?Cut edges are inspected for flatness, chipping and micro-cracks under magnification as part of in-process QC. Edge-quality acceptance criteria (maximum chipping size, crack length and edge flatness) are agreed in writing with you before sampling.

2. Reliability and Edge Sealing

How are cut edges sealed against moisture and liquid-crystal leakage? After cutting, the exposed cell edge is re-sealed with a UV-cured sealant using controlled dispensing, then cured and inspected. This protects the cell gap from moisture ingress and prevents LC leakage over the product's life.

Can the cut module pass standard environmental testing?Cut-format modules are validated against a reference test plan based on IEC 60068 and common industrial practice:

TestTypical Condition
High-temperature storage70 °C, 240 h
Low-temperature storage-20 °C, 240 h
High-temperature operation50 °C, 240 h
Damp heat (85/85 variant)85 °C / 85% RH, up to 240 h (project-specific)
Thermal shock-20 °C ↔ 70 °C, 30 cycles
Vibration (packaged)Per ISTA 2A
Drop (packaged)Per ISTA 2A

Test reports from comparable cut-panel projects are available for review under NDA. Project-specific validation can be run on your samples.

Is there a risk of light leakage or Mura at the cut edge?We control this through bezel/mask design, light-guide and film alignment, and edge sealing. Edge light leakage and color shift are checked in a darkroom inspection at all sample stages, and the acceptance standard is agreed with you up front.

3. Cost, Yield and Lead Time

What are NRE and sampling terms?NRE depends on whether the project needs new tooling, a custom bezel, or a custom control-board firmware build. We quote it explicitly in the engineering quotation, and for qualified volume programs it can be offset against the production order. A standard-spec sample (1 unit) is available immediately.

How long does sampling take?Standard units: 2–3 weeks. Custom first-article samples (e.g., 20 pcs): 4–6 weeks from drawing confirmation.

What yield and MOQ should we plan for?Mass-production yield targets are set per project during feasibility review; we share the target and the inspection criteria before you commit. Standard-spec MOQ is 1 unit. Custom cutting, brightness or bezel programs typically start at 50–100 pcs; the exact MOQ is confirmed at quotation.
