Why Custom Stretched Bar Displays
Standard 16:9 monitors were not designed for shelf rails, aisle headers, door frames, vending fronts or equipment fascias. When the installation space is fixed, the display has to adapt. That is where OEM and ODM engineering makes the difference: the right size, brightness, interface and mechanical design, validated for the environment it will actually live in.
We support projects from 8" to 88", with ultra-wide formats commonly ranging from 5:1 to 32:1, and tailor them to the market you serve.
OEM or ODM: Which Model Fits Your Project?
| OEM (Build to Your Spec) | ODM (We Develop with You) | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Brands and integrators with a defined design, drawing or specification | Teams who know the application but need engineering help defining the display solution |
| You provide | Drawings, specs, target market and volume | Application requirements, installation space, use environment, target cost |
| We provide | Manufacturing, customization, testing, private-label packaging | Concept, feasibility, panel selection, mechanical and electrical design, validation, and manufacturing |
| Typical output | Custom module or finished display built to your drawing | Complete display solution: bare module, driver board, touch, bonding, bracket or enclosure |
| IP and branding | Your brand, your label, your packaging | Development scope and IP terms agreed in writing at project start |
Not sure which applies? Send us your requirement and our engineers will recommend a route.

Overview
Standard 16:9 monitors do not fit shelf channels, aisle rails or slim cabinet fronts. The 16.3" Stretched Bar LCD Module is built from a mass-production TFT panel that is precisely resized into an ultra-wide, narrow-height format, so the display matches the geometry of your installation instead of the other way around.
It is designed for supermarket aisle and shelf-edge digital signage, and is equally suited to convenience stores, pharmacies, vending fronts, transit interiors and industrial HMI fascias.
We supply it as a bare TFT module (with optional controller board, touch, optical bonding and high-brightness backlight), so you can integrate it into your own Android player, media box or embedded system.
Key Features
| Feature | Benefit for your project |
|---|---|
| Ultra-wide bar format | Fits shelf-edge rails, aisle headers and narrow cabinet openings where a 16:9 panel cannot |
| Resized from proven mass-production TFT glass | Established supply chain and mature panel technology, lower risk than a new-tooled panel |
| Secondary sealing on all cut edges | Protects against moisture ingress and liquid leakage in cold-chain and humid retail environments |
| Wide viewing angle (IPS-type panel options) | Consistent image for shoppers approaching from the side while moving along an aisle |
| Optional high-brightness backlight | Readable under strong retail lighting and near windows or entrances |
| Custom interface options | LVDS, eDP or HDMI-driven controller boards, configured to your host platform |
| Optional capacitive touch & optical bonding | Improves contrast, durability and interactive use cases |
| Slim mechanical profile | Designed for embedded shelf and cabinet installation |
| OEM / ODM support | Custom sizes, brightness, interface, logo and private-label packaging |

Engineering Notes: How We Manufacture a Stretched Bar Panel
Resizing an LCD is not a cosmetic step. It changes the glass, the edge and the seal, so we manage it as a controlled process and share the details up front.
1. Cutting Method & Dimensional Control
We select the cutting method (mechanical wheel scribing or laser-assisted cutting) per project, based on your target dimension, tolerance and panel structure.
Dimensional tolerance and cut-edge positions are defined on the approved drawing before samples are built.
Edge flatness and micro-crack control are checked as part of incoming and in-process inspection. Our engineers will share the inspection criteria and measurement method with you during evaluation.
2. Circuit Layout & Cut-Line Feasibility
The cut line must stay clear of the gate/source routing and the TFT array active area. Feasibility depends on the original panel's layout, so we review it before any commitment.
To assess feasibility, please send:
Target outline dimensions and tolerance (drawing in PDF/DWG/STEP)
Preferred panel model, or resolution and aspect ratio if you have no preference
Interface, connector position and FPC direction requirements
Mounting method and available cavity depth
Brightness, temperature and environmental requirements
Estimated annual volume
We return a DFM / feasibility report so you know what is achievable before you spend on samples.
3. Edge Sealing & Moisture Protection
After cutting, the exposed cell edge is re-sealed with a secondary sealing process (UV-cured adhesive and/or other suitable sealant, selected to the panel structure) to restore moisture and liquid barrier performance. Sealing is followed by inspection for coverage, bubbles and leakage.
4. Reliability Validation
Typical qualification for cut TFT modules includes:
High-temperature / high-humidity storage and operation (for example 85 °C / 85 % RH)
High / low temperature storage and operation
Thermal shock cycling
Vibration and drop / mechanical shock on the assembled module
Test conditions, durations and pass criteria are agreed with you per application (commercial or industrial grade). Reliability reports for comparable cut-panel projects can be shared under NDA.
5. Optical Quality
Edge-area optical performance (light leakage, color shift, mura) is checked visually and by measurement under standardized patterns before shipment. Light-shielding and bezel/tape design at the cut edge are part of the DFM review to keep the visible edge area clean.
Application Scenarios
Supermarket aisles & shelf-edge
Dynamic price display and promotional content on shelf rails
Aisle-header advertising and category navigation

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Which cutting method do you use, and what tolerance can you hold?We choose mechanical wheel cutting or laser-assisted cutting based on your dimension, tolerance and panel structure. Tolerance is fixed on the approved drawing before sampling.
Q2. Will the cut interfere with the gate/source lines or TFT array? That is exactly what our feasibility review checks. With your target dimension and panel choice, we verify the cut line against the panel layout before quoting.
Q3. How are the cut edges sealed against moisture?By a secondary sealing process (UV adhesive and/or other suitable sealant), followed by coverage and leakage inspection.
Q4. Can the module pass standard reliability tests? We plan validation to your grade (commercial or industrial): high-temperature/high-humidity, high/low temperature, thermal shock, vibration and drop. Reports from comparable projects can be shared under NDA.
Q5. Will the cut edge cause light leakage, color shift or mura?Edge-area optical quality is part of the DFM stage (light shielding, bezel and tape design) and of outgoing inspection.
Q6. What are NRE, sample lead time, MOQ and yield? These vary by design. You receive them in writing with the feasibility report. Custom aspect ratios are typically quoted for OEM volumes.
Q7. Can you supply the driver board, touch and enclosure parts?Yes. We offer HDMI / LVDS / eDP driver boards, capacitive touch, optical bonding and custom brackets or bezels.
Q8. Do you support private label?Yes: logo, label and packaging customization for OEM and ODM customers.
