2. Cutting Process & Feasibility Assessment

For ultra-wide aspect ratio bar displays, we use a secondary precision cutting process on mother glass, with the following controls applied at the pre-evaluation stage:

2.1 Cutting Method Recommendation

Two cutting methods are available, selected based on target size, tolerance requirements, and edge-sensitivity of the application:

2.2 Circuit Routing Clearance

Before quotation and sampling, we confirm whether the proposed cut line intersects the Gate/Source driver routing area or the active TFT array region of the mother panel.

To complete this feasibility check, please provide:

  • Target finished dimensions, active display area, and tolerance requirements

  • Mechanical drawing / mounting hole layout (if structural integration is required)

  • For non-standard cuts: a sketch or dimensioned drawing showing the intended cut line relative to the mother panel outline

Our engineering team will cross-reference this against the mother panel's Gate/Source routing layout and issue a written Cutting Feasibility Confirmation before sampling proceeds.

2.3 Edge Finishing Standard

  • Cut edges are processed with chamfering + polishing, controlling edge flatness and micro-crack propagation within industry-standard limits (typically edge chipping ≤ 0.1 mm per IEC 60068-2-27 mechanical robustness reference).

  • Edge finishing precision can be adjusted according to the target reliability grade (Consumer / Industrial); inspection reports are provided with sample shipments.


3. Reliability & Sealing Assurance

3.1 Sealing Process

Cutting exposes the polarizer/glass interface at the edge. We apply a UV-cure dispensed edge sealant as a secondary sealing process to prevent liquid crystal leakage and moisture ingress. Sealing consistency is verified through batch-level microscopic inspection, with before/after imagery available on request.
