2. Cutting Process & Engineering Feasibility

Custom bar-format panels are made by cutting a larger mother panel down to your target dimensions. Before quoting, our engineering team evaluates the following:

  • Cutting method selection. Depending on target size, tolerance, and edge quality requirements, we select between mechanical wheel scribing (cost-efficient for straight-line cuts on standard aspect adjustments) and ultrafast laser cutting (tighter kerf control, lower micro-crack risk, preferred when the cut line runs close to active circuitry). The recommendation is confirmed once we see your target outline.

  • Trace and array clearance check. Every cut is verified against the panel's Gate/Source driver trace layout and TFT array boundary to confirm the new outline does not intersect active circuitry or damage driver ICs. This is the single most important feasibility gate in early-stage review.

  • What we need from you to confirm feasibility:

    • Target outline drawing (DWG/DXF) with critical dimensions and tolerances

    • Preferred active area / viewing area position relative to the original panel

    • Mounting/bezel constraints (if the cut edge interfaces with a housing or gasket)
