OEM/ODM Partnership for Custom Bar-Type TFT LCD Displays
Built Around What Overseas Integrators, Procurement Teams and Project Engineers Actually Need to Move a Project Forward
1. Why This Product Category Exists (Market Context)
Standard-ratio LCD panels (16:9) don't fit the physical spaces where a lot of commercial and industrial information needs to be displayed: shelf edges, door headers, elevator interiors, bus destination signs, checkout lanes, kiosk toppers. The demand for ultra-wide bar-format displays (2.7:1 to 8.8:1) has grown directly out of this mismatch — retail chains, transit operators and kiosk builders need a screen that fits the space they already have, not a space redesigned around a standard screen.
Because these form factors aren't stocked as commodity panels, almost every project in this category is inherently an OEM/ODM engagement — the buyer is not shopping a catalog, they're sourcing a cut dimension, brightness level, and interface that matches a specific enclosure, viewing environment and control system. This is the core reason our customers come to us instead of a panel distributor: they need a manufacturer that treats customization as the default workflow, not an exception.
2. Who We Build This For
| Customer Type | What They're Usually Doing |
|---|---|
| OEM Integrators | Embedding a bar display into their own branded hardware — kiosks, vending machines, transit information units, self-checkout systems |
| System Integrators / Project Engineers | Specifying a display to fit an existing structural cutout (retail fixture, elevator cab, vehicle dashboard) where dimensions are fixed and non-negotiable |
| Procurement Managers | Comparing suppliers on lead time reliability, MOQ flexibility, compliance documentation and total landed cost — not just unit price |
| Distributors / Brand Owners | Sourcing private-label display hardware to resell under their own brand into signage, retail or transportation channels |
These roles show up together on almost every inquiry: an engineer defines the technical requirement, a project manager owns the timeline, and procurement owns supplier qualification. Our OEM/ODM process is structured to give each of them a direct answer, not a generic sales pitch.
3. What These Customers Consistently Need Before They'll Commit
Based on the inquiries we handle, sourcing decisions in this category converge on five recurring requirements:
Proof the custom dimension is actually manufacturable — not just "yes we can cut it," but a cut-line review against the source panel's circuit layout, with a defined tolerance and edge-quality standard.
Reliability data, not just a spec sheet — environmental test benchmarks (temperature/humidity cycling, thermal shock, drop testing) relevant to where the display will actually be installed.
A realistic cost and timeline model — NRE for tooling/validation, first-sample lead time, and an honest yield expectation at volume, before they present a business case internally.
Low-friction customization — brightness, interface (HDMI/LVDS/eDP/VGA), touch, and mechanical bracket options that don't each require a separate negotiation.
A verifiable factory, not a trading company — registered business records, certifications (CE/FCC/RoHS, UL/CCC/EAC on request), and production capacity they can confirm independently.
4. HITULCD's OEM/ODM Scope
Customization dimensions we support as standard, not as special requests:
Panel size and cut geometry (mechanical wheel or ultrafast laser cutting, selected per tolerance requirement)
Brightness tier (350–3000 nits depending on platform) for indoor, semi-outdoor and full-outdoor use
Interface configuration: HDMI, VGA, LVDS, eDP, with custom AD/control board options
Touch integration (projected-capacitive, glove-compatible where required)
Mechanical integration: bezel design, mounting brackets, housing adaptation to fit an existing cutout
Branding: logo printing, private-label packaging, custom OSD boot logo
Engineering support built into the process, not billed as an add-on:
DFM (Design for Manufacturing) review of your target dimensions against source-panel circuit layout before any tooling commitment
Signal timing and interface documentation, typically turned around quickly enough to unblock your own hardware/firmware team
Full technical documentation package for your own certification and compliance filings
Production and supply assurance:
ISO 9001:2015-certified design, production and delivery process
ISO 14644-1 certified cleanroom manufacturing
12,000+ units/month capacity, with safety stock on common sizes to buffer supply chain fluctuations
Scheduled/forecasted production slots available for repeat OEM programs
5. How an OEM/ODM Project Runs, Start to Finish
| Stage | What Happens | Typical Timing |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Inquiry & Requirement Capture | You share target dimensions, application, environment and volume | — |
| 2. DFM / Cut Feasibility Review | Our engineering team checks your target spec against source panel layout, confirms cutting method and tolerance | A few business days |
| 3. Quotation | NRE, sample cost, unit pricing at your target volume, indicative MOQ | Issued with feasibility confirmation |
| 4. Sampling | First samples (commonly ~20 pcs) built and tested against your spec | 4–6 weeks for custom cutting/brightness/bezel projects |
| 5. Qualification | You run your own reliability/EMC/integration testing; we support with test data and documentation | Customer-driven |
| 6. Mass Production | Production scheduled against your forecast, with QC records available for review | 2–3 weeks standard once tooling is validated |
6. Why Overseas Buyers Choose to Qualify Us
We're a verifiable factory. Shenzhen Hantu Jiashi Technology Co., Ltd. — established 2014, active business status, registered capital RMB 2,000,000 — not a trading intermediary.
We speak the compliance language Western buyers need. CE, FCC, RoHS as standard; UL, CCC, EAC available on request; REACH and WEEE documentation on request.
We quote real terms upfront. Incoterms (EXW/FOB/CIF), MOQ starting at 1 unit for standard specs, and payment protection via T/T, L/C, PayPal (samples) or O/A for established partners — before you have to ask.
We give engineering access, not a sales script. Your project engineer can talk directly to our technical team about cut tolerances, sealing process and test data — the people who actually make the manufacturability call.
7. Start an OEM/ODM Inquiry
Send us:
Target dimensions and application (retail, transit, kiosk, industrial, etc.)
Brightness, interface and touch requirements
Mechanical drawing (DXF/DWG) if fitting an existing enclosure

2. Cutting Process & Feasibility Evaluation
Cutting method. We select the cutting method based on the target dimension, tolerance and the panel's internal circuit layout — not by default. For most bar-format cuts, we run precision mechanical wheel scribe-and-break cutting, which is stable and cost-effective for straight-edge cuts on standard glass thickness. For tighter tolerances, cuts closer to the active array edge, or panels where micro-crack propagation risk is higher, we switch to ultrafast laser cutting (cold cutting), which produces a cleaner, lower-stress edge with minimal heat-affected zone. The final method is confirmed jointly with your team after we review your target dimensions.
Circuit and array clearance. Before any cut is approved, our engineering team maps the target cut line against the Gate/Source driver trace layout and the TFT array boundary of the source panel to confirm there is no interference with active circuitry. This is a mandatory design-for-cut check, not an assumption.
What we need from you to run feasibility:
Target finished dimensions (W × H) and tolerance class
Desired active area / bezel requirement
Mounting or cutout drawing (DXF/DWG preferred) if the panel integrates into a housing
Any keep-out zone required for your own connector or bracket design
Once received, we return a cut-line proposal referencing the source panel's internal layout, confirming feasibility before tooling or sampling begins.
Edge finish standard. Post-cut edges are inspected under magnification against an internal edge-flatness and micro-crack acceptance standard, with chip and crack tolerances defined per cutting method. Full inspection criteria and sample data can be shared under NDA for qualification purposes.
3. Reliability & Edge Sealing
Sealing process. After cutting, the exposed glass edge is treated with a secondary sealing process — typically UV-cure dispensed sealant applied along the cut edge — to block moisture ingress and prevent liquid crystal leakage at the boundary. Dispensing parameters (bead width, cure profile) are adjusted per cut geometry and are validated during the sampling stage.
Reliability testing. Cut-and-sealed modules are qualified under standard environmental and mechanical test protocols appropriate to industrial-grade or consumer-grade use, depending on your application:
High-temperature / high-humidity storage and operation (85°C/85%RH type testing)
High/low temperature cycling
Thermal shock cycling
Structural drop testing
Benchmark data from comparable cut-panel programs (pass/fail thresholds, cycle counts, duration) is available for review — please specify your target application (industrial control, transportation, retail signage, etc.) so we can share the most relevant reference dataset.
Optical performance at the cut edge. A properly executed cut-and-seal process should not introduce light leakage or visible Mura at the sealed boundary. Edge-zone optical uniformity is checked as part of standard outgoing inspection, and can be validated further with sample units before you commit to volume.
