1. Cutting Process & Feasibility

  • Cutting method: Depending on the target dimensions, tolerance, and edge-quality requirements, our engineering team evaluates two cutting approaches — mechanical wheel scribe-and-break, and ultrafast (cold) laser cutting. Laser cutting is generally recommended for tighter dimensional tolerance and minimal micro-cracking near the cut edge; mechanical cutting can be cost-effective for larger tolerance windows. The final recommendation is confirmed per project after DFM review.

  • Circuit clearance (Gate/Source & TFT array): Before cutting, our engineers cross-check the requested outline against the panel's Gate/Source trace layout and active TFT array boundary to confirm the cut line does not intersect functional circuitry. To complete this review, we typically request:

    • Target outline dimensions and cutting tolerance (±mm)

    • Desired active area (A.A.) location relative to the original panel

    • Mounting/mechanical drawing (if the cut panel integrates into an existing housing)
