OEM / ODM Services — 58.4" Bar-Type Stretched Display Module

Why Overseas Brands & System Integrators Choose Custom Cutting Partners

Prepared for: Overseas Display Brands / System Integrators / Digital Signage Project Owners

1. Market Context

Bar-type (stretched) displays are one of the fastest-growing segments in commercial digital signage — driven by demand for non-standard aspect ratios in retail shelf-edge, transit signage, elevator media, and architectural applications where a standard 16:9 panel simply doesn't fit the space. Because these sizes don't exist as native panel products, every bar-type display on the market today is the result of a custom cutting + OEM/ODM relationship between a brand and a manufacturing partner.

This creates two distinct sourcing needs for overseas customers:

  • Brands and integrators need a partner who can turn a spec (size, aspect ratio, brightness, interface) into a manufacturable, reliable product — without them having to manage panel sourcing, cutting, sealing, and reliability validation in-house.

  • Distributors and resellers need private-label options on proven cut sizes (like 58.4") to build a catalog under their own brand, without R&D investment.

Our OEM/ODM program is built to serve both.

2. What We Offer

OEM (Your Brand, Our Manufacturing)

  • Private-label branding on housing, packaging, and OSD/boot logo

  • Customer-specified interface board, connector, or controller (Android board, media player, touch overlay, etc.)

  • Custom bezel color, mounting bracket, or enclosure to match your product line

  • Your part numbering and documentation format

ODM (From Spec to Finished Product)

  • Full design-in support starting from your target dimensions, aspect ratio, or installation constraint

  • Panel/donor sourcing, cutting method selection, and feasibility engineering (see our technical process document)

  • Reliability testing to your required grade (consumer/industrial) with test reports for your compliance file

  • Structural design of chassis, thermal management, and cable routing for your specific enclosure

  • Option to co-develop new cut sizes not currently in our standard catalog

3. Why This Matters for Bar-Type Displays Specifically

Unlike standard-size panels, bar-type displays require the manufacturer to control the entire chain — donor panel selection, cut-line engineering, edge sealing, and reliability validation — before a "standard product" even exists. This means OEM/ODM isn't an add-on service for this category; it's effectively how the product gets made. Choosing a partner with in-house cutting, sealing, and testing capability (rather than one that subcontracts the cutting step) directly affects:

  • Consistency across production batches (cut tolerance, edge Mura control)

  • Speed from spec to sample (no third-party cutting queue)

  • IP protection — your target dimensions and cut design aren't shared with an external cutting vendor

  • Accountability for reliability test results, since the same team that cuts the panel also validates it

4. Typical OEM/ODM Engagement Flow

StageWhat Happens
1. Spec intakeYou share target size, aspect ratio, interface, brightness, environment, and volume
2. Feasibility reviewWe confirm cutting method, tolerance, and flag any circuit/trace conflicts
3. QuotationNRE, sample lead time, and unit pricing at your target MOQ
4. Sample buildFirst samples (typ. ~20 pcs) built and reliability-tested
5. Sample approvalYou validate against your own QC/reliability criteria
6. Mass productionProduction ramp with agreed yield and delivery schedule

5. Minimum Requirements to Start an OEM/ODM Discussion

  1. Target size/aspect ratio, or the space constraint you're designing around

  2. Brightness, viewing environment (indoor/outdoor), and operating temperature range

  3. Interface/controller requirements (standalone Android, external PC, touch, etc.)

  4. Branding requirements (logo, housing color, packaging)

  5. Estimated sample and annual production volume

We work with both brands building a new custom size and distributors looking to private-label our standard 58.4" cut. Share your requirement and we'll advise the most efficient path — standard cut + private label, or full custom ODM.

58.4" Bar-Type Stretched Display Module

Technical & Sourcing Guide for Commercial Display Manufacturers

Prepared for: Overseas Engineers / Procurement Managers / Project Leads

1. Product Overview

The 58.4" bar-type (stretched) display module is produced by precision-cutting a standard 58"/65" UHD open-cell LCD panel into an ultra-wide aspect ratio format, ideal for digital signage, transit information boards, shelf-edge advertising, and architectural media walls.

ItemReference Spec
Active Size58.4" (diagonal)
Donor Panel58"/65" UHD (3840×2160) open cell
Cutting RatioConfigurable — 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 cut available on request
Aspect RatioCustom (e.g., 16:4.5, 16:6, 16:9 stretched variants)
InterfaceLVDS / eDP (per original panel spec)
BrightnessPer donor panel baseline; HB options available
ApplicationDigital signage, transit displays, retail shelf edge, control rooms

Note: Exact resolution, luminance, and dimensional specs are confirmed per project based on the donor panel model selected — please share your target application and installation constraints for a tailored spec sheet.

2. Cutting Process & Feasibility Assessment

2.1 Cutting Method

We offer two proven cutting approaches, selected based on cut-line location and customer tolerance requirements:

  • Mechanical wheel (scribe-and-break) cutting — cost-effective, suitable for straight cuts along non-active glass margins with standard tolerance (±0.2–0.3mm).

  • Ultra-fast laser cutting (picosecond/femtosecond) — preferred for cuts closer to the active display area or where micro-crack control and edge strength are critical (tolerance can be held to ±0.1mm or tighter).

Our engineering team will recommend the appropriate method after reviewing your target cut-line position relative to the panel's active area.

2.2 Circuit & Trace Avoidance

Before any cutting feasibility is confirmed, we require the following from the customer (or will extract from the donor panel if sourced by us):

  • Panel model number and full datasheet

  • Gate/Source driver IC and COF/COG bonding area layout

  • TFT array boundary and active area (AA) coordinates

  • Target cut dimensions and required tolerance

Our team cross-checks the proposed cut line against Gate/Source trace routing and the TFT array to confirm no interference with active circuitry, and will flag any conflict before quotation.

2.3 Edge Treatment Standard

Post-cut edges are inspected under microscope against the following baseline criteria (adjustable per customer's reliability requirements):

  • Edge flatness: controlled within standard chamfer/grinding tolerance

  • Micro-crack depth: limited to a defined maximum (verified via edge inspection sampling)

  • Edge finishing: fine grinding + polishing to remove chipping and stress points prior to sealing

3. Reliability & Edge Sealing

3.1 Sealing Process

To prevent liquid crystal leakage and moisture ingress at the cut edge, we apply a secondary sealing process — typically UV-cure dispensed sealant along the cut edge, sometimes combined with a secondary moisture-barrier coating depending on the application environment (indoor vs. outdoor/high-humidity).

3.2 Reliability Testing

Cut modules are validated through standard reliability protocols, with test level (consumer-grade or industrial-grade) selected based on end-use application:

TestTypical Condition
High-temp / high-humidity (double 85)85°C / 85% RH, 240–500 hrs (per grade)
High/low temp storage-20°C to 60°C cycling
Thermal shock-20°C ↔ 60°C, multiple cycles
Structural drop testPer packaging/module spec

We can share test reports and benchmark data from comparable cutting projects upon NDA/RFQ engagement.

3.3 Optical Performance After Sealing

Edge-adjacent Mura risk (light leakage, color shift near the cut line) is controlled through the combination of cutting precision + sealant selection + backlight/optical film trimming process. Edge inspection is part of standard outgoing QC, with acceptance criteria defined jointly with the customer during sample approval.

4. Cost, Yield & Lead Time

ItemTypical Range*
NRE (tooling/engineering setup)Quoted per project, based on cut complexity and panel sourcing
Sample lead time (≈20 pcs)Confirmed after feasibility review — generally within a few weeks of design freeze
Expected mass-production yieldDependent on cut-line complexity and tolerance requirements; shared based on comparable project history
