5.1 Panel Cutting & Feasibility Assessment

Cutting method. The cutting method is selected per project according to the size tolerance, panel structure and edge-quality requirement:

  • Mechanical wheel cutting: cost-efficient for standard tolerances

  • Ultrafast (ultrashort-pulse) laser cutting: preferred for tight tolerances, narrow margins and reduced micro-crack risk [TBC: confirm which methods your factory actually uses]

Routing / circuit avoidance. Every custom size is checked against the original panel's Gate/Source routing and TFT array area before cutting, to ensure the cut line does not interfere with active circuitry.
