OEM / ODM Custom-Size TFT LCD Solutions — Your Size, Your Interface, Your Enclosure
Your product shouldn't have to be redesigned around a standard screen. We build the display around your product.
From 18.8" long-strip modules to fully customized cut-to-size panels, we help engineering teams in Europe and North America get displays that fit the exact opening, bezel and mounting structure of their equipment. Cut dimension, brightness, touch, interface, driver board and mechanical integration are all handled under one project team.
Any size your design needs. We review every requested dimension against the panel's actual circuit layout. If it can be done, we tell you how, with a marked cut-line drawing. If it can't, we tell you that up front and propose the closest alternative, before you spend on samples.
1. Why Custom-Size Displays?
Standard TFT sizes (16:9, 4:3) are built for consumer devices, not for shelf edges, vending fascias, elevator doors or control cabinets. Designing around them often means:
| Problem with standard screens | What a custom-size display gives you |
|---|---|
| Wasted screen area behind the bezel | Active area matched to the visible opening |
| Enclosure redesign or extra tooling | Display adapted to your existing enclosure |
| Awkward UI on the wrong aspect ratio | Content layout designed for strip / bar / square formats |
| Longer time-to-market | Feasibility review first, then sampling |
| Compromise on brightness or durability | Panel specified for your real environment |
2. What We Can Customize
| Category | Options |
|---|---|
| Size & shape | Cut-to-length strips, non-standard rectangles, narrow-bezel fits; straight-line cuts on the feasible axis |
| Resolution & aspect ratio | Standard bar formats (approx. 5:1 to 32:1 ‡) or project-specific ratios |
| Brightness | 250 to 1,000+ cd/m² for indoor, semi-outdoor and high-ambient-light installations |
| Touch | Projected capacitive (PCAP) with custom cover glass, glove / wet-touch tuning, printed ink and logo |
| Optical | Optical bonding, anti-glare, anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint, privacy film on request |
| Interface | LVDS, eDP, MIPI DSI, RGB, HDMI via driver board; custom FPC / cable length and connector |
| Electronics | Driver board, controller PCBA, power board, embedded Linux / Android control board on request |
| Environmental | Standard 0 to +50 °C ‡, industrial and wide-temperature grades ‡, humidity and vibration options |
| Mechanical | Bezel, bracket, housing, mounting holes, gasket, front-panel assembly |
| Packaging & labeling | Private labeling, custom carton, ESD-safe trays, barcode / serial traceability |
3. OEM vs. ODM — Choose Your Level of Engagement
| OEM | ODM | |
|---|---|---|
| You provide | Complete specification and drawings | Application requirements and target use case |
| We provide | Manufacturing to your spec, under your brand | Concept, engineering, design, prototyping and manufacturing |
| Best for | Teams with defined hardware and their own engineers | Teams that need a display partner, not just a supplier |
| Typical scope | Cut-to-size, private label, custom packaging | Full display subsystem: panel + touch + board + mechanics |
| IP | Your design remains yours | Ownership defined in project agreement; NDA available |
Most customers start with an OEM-style cut project and grow into ODM as the product line expands.
4. How a Custom-Size Project Works
| Stage | What happens | Typical time ‡ |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Requirement review | Share drawings, target size, environment and volume | 1 to 2 days |
| 2. Feasibility report | Panel selection, cut direction, layout keep-out check, method recommendation (mechanical or ultra-fast laser), risk summary | 3 to 5 working days |
| 3. Quotation | Unit price, NRE (if any), MOQ, lead time | 1 to 2 days |
| 4. Engineering samples | Prototype lot (e.g., 20 pcs) with cut, edge sealing and integration | 3 to 4 weeks |
| 5. Validation | Optical check, reliability tests, customer approval | 2 to 4 weeks |
| 6. Pilot run | Small-batch build to confirm yield and process stability | 2 to 3 weeks |
| 7. Mass production | Scheduled deliveries, 100% functional test, traceability | 6 to 8 weeks from PO ‡ |
To start, we only need: a mechanical drawing or target dimensions, the required tolerance, your interface and touch needs, the operating environment, and your estimated volume.

9. Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really cut to any size?We can cut to almost any dimension the panel's layout allows. Cutting is normally possible along one axis, on the side away from the driver IC / FPC and fan-out routing. Every request goes through a feasibility review, and we will suggest alternatives if your dimension isn't achievable on a given panel.
Do I need to commit to NRE before feasibility? No. The feasibility review is free with drawing submission. NRE, if any, is quoted afterward and can be waived or partly refunded against volume commitments ‡.
What's the smallest quantity you'll build?Prototype lots start at around 20 pcs. Production MOQ depends on the panel and process, typically 100 to 500 pcs for custom-cut projects ‡.
Can you handle the touch, cover glass and driver board too?Yes. We supply integrated kits including PCAP touch, cover glass with printing, optical bonding and LVDS / eDP / HDMI driver boards.
How do you protect our design?Under NDA, with restricted access to drawings. Ownership of custom tooling and designs is defined in the project agreement.
What about long-term availability? We plan the supply chain for OEM programs, including panel lifecycle tracking and advance notice of EOL changes.

18.8" Long Strip (Stretched Bar) TFT LCD Module — Customizable for OEM / ODM Integration
Ultra-wide bar-type TFT-LCD for space-constrained equipment. Standard version available for fast sampling; cut-to-size (custom length) option available for projects where standard sizes do not fit.
Who it's for: Hardware engineers, sourcing / procurement managers and project leads designing shelf-edge displays, vending and kiosk fascias, elevator and transit information strips, industrial control panels and gaming / commercial terminals.
1. Product Overview
The 18.8" Long Strip TFT LCD Module is a bar-type display with an extreme aspect ratio (approx. 5:1), designed for products where a standard 16:9 or 4:3 screen wastes space or cannot fit the mechanical opening. The LCD glass, backlight and driver electronics are engineered specifically for the elongated form factor, delivering uniform brightness from edge to edge.
Beyond the standard module, we support project-based customization: length trimming (cuttable series), high brightness, capacitive touch, optical bonding, wide-temperature operation and interface / driver-board adaptation, so you can match the display to your enclosure rather than redesigning the enclosure around the display.
Key benefits
Fits where standard screens can't — narrow bezels, shelf edges, door panels, fascia strips
Uniform edge-to-edge luminance — purpose-built backlight, not a cut-down standard panel
Engineering-led customization — feasibility review before any tooling or cutting commitment
Industrial-grade options — high brightness, wide temperature, 24/7 duty-cycle operation
Full documentation support — datasheet, 2D/3D drawings, sample reports, RoHS / REACH declarations

4. Custom Cutting — Technical Feasibility & Process Control
For customers who need a non-standard length, we review each project against the exact panel structure before committing to samples. Here is how we evaluate and control the process.
4.1 Cutting Method
| Method | Typical use | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanical scribe-and-break (cutting wheel) | Straight-line cuts, cost-sensitive volume projects | Lower cost; edge chipping and micro-cracks must be controlled with process parameters and post-cut inspection |
| Ultra-fast (picosecond / femtosecond) laser | Tight tolerance, small margin to circuitry, higher edge-quality requirements | Higher edge quality and lower micro-crack risk; higher process cost |
The method is recommended per project based on your required tolerance, distance to the array circuitry and volume. We share the reasoning in the feasibility report.
Typical cutting tolerance: ±0.2 mm (mechanical) / ±0.1 mm (laser) ‡ — final tolerance confirmed by the feasibility review.
4.2 Circuit Routing & Layout Avoidance
Cutting is only feasible on a panel axis that does not interfere with the Gate / Source fan-out routing, driver IC / FPC bonding area or the active TFT array. The cut line must also retain enough safety margin from the seal (sealant) line and peripheral circuitry.
To confirm feasibility, please provide:
Target dimensions and tolerance (mechanical drawing, 2D DXF/DWG or PDF)
Required active-area size and allowed border / bezel width
Preferred cut direction and driver / FPC side
Any critical keep-out or mounting constraints
Target volume and application environment
We then compare this against the panel's cell drawing / layout data and return a feasibility report with a marked cut-line drawing (typically within 3–5 working days ‡).
4.3 Edge Quality Standards
| Item | Control |
|---|---|
| Edge flatness / chipping | Inspected under microscope; no chips extending into the seal or active area |
| Micro-cracks | Cracks limited to a defined depth from the edge; 100% visual inspection + sampling under magnification |
| Edge treatment | Optional edge grinding / chamfer to relieve stress and improve handling safety |
| Cleanliness | Cut in controlled environment; particle and residue cleaning after cutting |
Specific acceptance criteria (e.g., maximum chip size, crack length) are agreed in a customer-approved Inspection Standard before sample release.
5. Sealing, Reliability & Optical Performance
5.1 Edge Sealing (Anti-Leakage / Anti-Moisture)
After cutting, the exposed cell edge is re-sealed to protect the liquid crystal and polarizer interface from moisture ingress and leakage.
Process: Precision dispensing of UV-curable and / or thermal-cure sealant along the cut edge, followed by controlled curing ‡
Coverage: Full edge coverage including polarizer edge and glass-to-glass interface
Verification: Visual inspection, leak / stain checks and reliability testing on sample lots
5.2 Reliability Testing
Cut-and-sealed modules are validated against the customer's target grade. Typical test plan (grade selectable per project):
| Test | Typical Condition ‡ | Industrial / Wide-temp Grade ‡ |
|---|---|---|
| High-temperature storage | +80 °C, 240 h | +85 °C, 500 h |
| Low-temperature storage | –30 °C, 240 h | –40 °C, 500 h |
| High-temp / high-humidity (85/85) | +60 °C / 90% RH, 240 h | +85 °C / 85% RH, 500 h |
| Thermal shock | –30 ↔ +80 °C, 100 cycles | –40 ↔ +85 °C, 100–200 cycles |
| Vibration | Per IEC 60068-2-6 (sine) | Per project requirement |
| Mechanical shock / drop | Packaged drop test per ISTA; unit-level shock per project spec | Per project requirement |
Test data: Reliability reports from comparable cut projects can be shared under NDA. Please tell us your target grade (consumer / industrial) and we will propose the matching test plan and reference data.
5.3 Optical Performance After Cutting
Edge-region optical quality — light leakage, color shift and edge Mura — is evaluated on every custom project:
Backlight matching: Backlight length is matched to the cut LCD to avoid edge hotspots or dark bands
Light-leakage control: Light-shielding tape / bezel design at the cut edge
Inspection: Full-white, full-black and gray-level patterns under standard conditions, with edge Mura judged against a signed-off limit sample
Optical bonding (optional): Helps reduce edge reflection and improves perceived uniformity
