Why Standard Panels Don't Fit Modern Products
Standard 16:9 and 4:3 panels were designed for monitors and TVs, not for elevator fascias, shelf edges, EV chargers, medical carts or rack-mount equipment. Forcing a standard panel into a non-standard enclosure means wasted space, cropped user interfaces, oversized bezels and compromised industrial design.
Our OEM and ODM programs solve this at the source. We start from your mechanical envelope and use case, then build the display that fits it.
| The Problem | Our Solution |
|---|---|
| Enclosure has a non-standard shape | Custom outline, stretched bar and ultra-wide formats |
| Screen must be readable in sunlight or bright retail lighting | High-brightness backlight and optical bonding |
| Product runs 24/7 in harsh environments | Wide-temperature, industrial-grade validation |
| Integration takes too many suppliers | Panel, touch, cover glass, driver board and cabling from one source |
| Supply must stay stable for years | Long-term supply planning and formal change control |
Custom Size Capability: From Compact Strips to Large-Format Bars
We support customized displays across a wide size range, from compact 8-inch modules up to 88-inch large-format bar displays, with aspect ratios from 5:1 up to 32:1 and beyond, in both landscape and portrait orientation.
| Capability | Range |
|---|---|
| Diagonal Size | Compact to large format, approx. 8" to 88" (project-specific) |
| Aspect Ratio | Standard, 16:9 to 32:9, 16:3, 16:4.5, custom ultra-wide bar formats |
| Orientation | Landscape, portrait, or custom mounting angle |
| Resolution | Standard and custom, matched to your UI and content |
| Brightness | 300 to 1,500+ cd/m² depending on size and thermal design |
| Touch | Non-touch, PCAP (projected capacitive), optional IR |
| Bonding | Air bonding, OCA and OCR optical bonding |
| Temperature Grade | Commercial, extended, industrial wide-temperature |
Final size, resolution and brightness combinations depend on available glass, backlight and thermal feasibility. Our engineers confirm the best-fit configuration during the feasibility review, and propose alternatives whenever a requested combination is not practical.

Product Overview
The 20.3-inch Elongated TFT LCD Module is a stretched bar display engineered for equipment where a standard 16:9 panel simply does not fit. Its ultra-wide aspect ratio delivers a panoramic viewing area in a slim, low-profile form factor, ideal for shelf-edge signage, elevator and transportation information strips, EV chargers, vending fascias, rack-mount equipment, medical carts and industrial control front panels.
Unlike repurposed standard panels, our bar-type modules are designed around the elongated geometry. The backlight, driver board and LCD glass are optimized together to deliver uniform brightness from edge to edge, with controlled edge sealing and stable long-term reliability.
Why Engineers and Sourcing Teams Choose This Module
Fits where standard panels can't. Panoramic layouts for timelines, dashboards, wayfinding and multi-zone content in a single, slim display.
Engineered, not just cut. Custom bar-format modules are validated as a complete system (glass, backlight, driver, sealing), not adapted after the fact.
Customizable to your BOM. Brightness, interface, touch, cover glass, bonding and mechanical outline can be adapted to your project.
Production-ready supply chain. Engineering samples, structured DFM review, change control and long-term supply planning for OEM programs.
Compliance-ready documentation. Support for CE, FCC Part 15 and RoHS documentation packages for EU and North American deployment.

Engineering FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most from design engineers, project managers and procurement teams during evaluation.
1. Technical Process and Feasibility
What cutting methods do you use, and how do you decide between them?We select the process based on your target dimensions, tolerance and panel structure. Mechanical wheel scribing and breaking is used for standard straight-line cuts and offers a cost-effective, mature process. Ultra-fast laser cutting is used where tighter tolerances, cleaner edges or more complex outlines are needed. Our engineers recommend the method during the feasibility review and confirm it with a sample build.
What tolerances can be achieved?Typical glass outline tolerance is ±0.2 mm for standard cutting, with tighter tolerance available for laser-cut projects. Final tolerance is confirmed on the approval drawing.
Will cutting interfere with gate/source routing or the TFT array?Cutting position is always defined against the panel's fan-out, seal line and active-area layout, so the cut does not enter the routing zone or damage the array. Where a requested dimension would reach a critical area, we tell you during evaluation and propose an alternative, instead of building a sample that will fail.
What do you need from us for a feasibility review? To give you a reliable answer quickly, please provide:
Target outline drawing (2D / 3D STEP) with active area, bezel and mounting requirements
Target resolution, brightness, interface and touch requirements
Operating environment (temperature, humidity, vibration, outdoor exposure)
Estimated annual volume and project schedule
Any source panel model number, if you already have a preferred base panel
Our engineering team typically returns a feasibility response, with a preliminary drawing, within 3 to 5 working days.
What are your standards for glass edge quality and micro-crack control?Cut edges are inspected under magnification for chipping, flatness and micro-cracks. Edges are then processed and sealed to prevent crack propagation. Inspection criteria are agreed with you and documented in the approval specification, so incoming inspection on your side matches our outgoing quality standard.
2. Reliability and Edge Sealing
How are the cut edges sealed against moisture and liquid crystal leakage? After cutting, exposed cell edges are re-sealed with a controlled dispensing process using UV-curable and thermal-curable sealant, with cure parameters and dispensing volume monitored in production. The sealed edge is inspected for coverage, bubbles and adhesion.
Will the module pass standard reliability tests?Yes. Modules are validated against industry-standard environmental tests, tailored to your target grade (consumer, commercial or industrial). A typical validation plan includes:
| Test | Typical Condition |
|---|---|
| High-temperature operation | +50 °C to +70 °C, 500 to 1,000 h, depending on grade |
| Low-temperature operation | 0 °C to -20 °C, 500 to 1,000 h, depending on grade |
| High-temperature / high-humidity (85/85) | +85 °C / 85% RH, 240 to 500 h |
| Thermal shock | -30 °C ↔ +80 °C, 100 cycles (dwell 30 min) |
| Vibration | Sine / random, per IEC 60068-2-6 / -2-64 |
| Mechanical shock / drop | Per IEC 60068-2-27; packaged drop test per ISTA |
| ESD | ±8 kV contact / ±15 kV air, per IEC 61000-4-2 |
Test reports for comparable bar-format projects are available under NDA on request. Test plans for your project are agreed at kickoff and reports are delivered with the samples.
Is there a risk of light leakage or color shift at the cut edge?Edge light leakage and Mura are controlled through three measures: optimized light-shielding and bezel design at the cut edge, backlight and polarizer alignment matched to the new outline, and 100% optical inspection at defined gray levels. Where the design allows, we recommend a light-blocking edge tape or frame to eliminate residual edge glow.
3. Cost, Yield and Lead Time
What are the NRE costs for a custom project?NRE depends on how far the design departs from a standard configuration: outline only, added driver board, cover glass, touch or bonding. Standard variations of this module often carry low or no NRE. Fully custom outline projects include a one-time engineering and tooling charge that is quoted after the feasibility review, and can be credited against volume orders in many cases.
How long do engineering samples take?A first sample run of 20 pcs is typically delivered in 2 to 4 weeks from drawing approval, depending on customization level.
What yield and MOQ should we plan for?Yield depends on the process and outline, and is validated during the pilot run. We report measured yield on the pilot lot and agree on a target with you before mass production. Standard MOQ is 50 to 100 pcs for production orders; sample quantities from 1 pc are available for evaluation. Mass-production lead time is typically 4 to 6 weeks, and schedules for forecast programs are agreed in advance.
