OEM/ODM Custom-Cut Bar & Stretched LCD Panels — Any Size, Any Aspect Ratio
From 7" to 98" — If You Can Draw the Dimension, We Can Evaluate the Cut
Most LCD suppliers sell you what's already in their catalog. We do the opposite: tell us the space you need to fill — a shelf edge, a doorframe, a column wrap, a cockpit strip, a kiosk bezel — and our engineering team works backward from your dimension to the mother glass, the cut line, and a finished, sealed, driver-integrated panel built around your spec, not ours.
This is a precision glass-cutting and re-engineering capability, not a catalog. It exists because standard 16:9 and 4:3 panels are mass-tooled for consumer electronics — they were never meant to fit a 1.2 m elevator column, a 90 mm-tall shelf rail, or a 58:9 architectural signage strip. We close that gap.
What OEM/ODM Means Here
| OEM (Build-to-Spec) | ODM (Design-to-Need) | |
|---|---|---|
| You provide | Final dimensions, resolution, interface, brand/logo requirements | Application, installation space, and use case |
| We provide | Manufacturing to your exact drawing, your labeling, your packaging | Full spec proposal — cut geometry, resolution, driver, sealing method — for your sign-off |
| Best for | Buyers who already have an engineering spec or a competitor sample to match | Buyers who know the space/problem but need the panel spec engineered from scratch |
| MOQ | Aligned to your production volume | Aligned to your production volume, once spec is finalized in the sampling stage |
Both paths end in the same place: a panel built to your dimension, under your part number, ready to drop into your product.
Any Aspect Ratio, Any Size — Built From Mother Glass, Not a Fixed Mold
Because our panels are precision-cut from standard mother glass (sourced from BOE, LG, Innolux) rather than injection-molded to a single fixed shape, we're not limited to a catalog of pre-set aspect ratios. Every cut line is engineered around your target dimension:
Ultra-wide bar formats — 16:3, 16:4, 32:9, 58:9, or fully custom ratios for shelf-edge, transit, and signage strips
Narrow / tall strips — column wraps, door-frame displays, vertical menu boards
Non-rectangular or irregular cut geometry — evaluated case-by-case against the mother glass layout
Full size range — from 7" compact bar panels up to 98" large-format industrial/outdoor strips
Brightness matched to environment — 300 nits (indoor) up to 3,000–5,000 nits (direct sunlight, outdoor)
If a dimension doesn't exist in any manufacturer's standard lineup, that's exactly the kind of request this capability is built for.
How an OEM/ODM Cutting Project Works
Share your requirement — target dimension (or installation space if size isn't finalized), resolution, interface, brightness, and environment (indoor/outdoor, temperature range).
Engineering feasibility review — we map your cut line against the source panel's Gate/Source driver and active TFT array position to confirm the cut clears active circuitry, and recommend mechanical wheel-cutting or ultra-fast laser cutting based on your tolerance requirement.
Spec proposal (ODM) or drawing confirmation (OEM) — you receive a proposed panel spec, or we confirm feasibility against your drawing, along with NRE cost and sample lead time.
First-article samples — cut, edge-sealed (UV-cure sealant, moisture-barrier option for outdoor use), driver-integrated, and optically inspected before shipment for your qualification.
Reliability sign-off — sample data available for high-temp/humidity ("double-85"), thermal shock, and drop/structural testing, aligned to consumer-grade or industrial-grade requirements as your application needs.
Tooling lock & mass production — once samples pass, we quote MOQ and production pricing tiers for your target annual volume.

Overview
Standard-size LCD panels are mass-produced in fixed aspect ratios (16:9, 4:3, etc.), which leaves a gap for ultra-wide, narrow-height, or otherwise "non-standard" display spaces. Hitulcd closes that gap by precision-cutting standard mother glass panels into custom bar and stretched formats — without sacrificing the optical and reliability performance expected from a finished TFT module.
The 24" stretched bar panel is one of our most requested formats, commonly deployed as:
Retail shelf-edge / gondola-end displays — pricing, promotions, and dynamic content in narrow shelf spaces
Elevator, corridor & lobby signage — landscape or portrait bar displays in constrained architectural spaces
Transit & metro information boards — arrival times, route maps, service alerts
Control room / SCADA status bars — continuous data strips above or below primary monitors
DMD / marquee / arcade cabinet displays — for OEM equipment integrators
Why Buy Cut Panels Instead of a Native Bar Display
| Custom-Cut Panel (Hitulcd) | Native Stretched Panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Lead time for new sizes | Short — based on mother glass cutting | Long — requires new photomask tooling |
| MOQ for prototyping | Low, sample runs available | Typically high |
| Aspect ratio flexibility | Fully custom to your cut line | Fixed to manufacturer's catalog sizes |
| Cost at low-to-mid volume | Lower | Higher (tooling amortization) |
| Edge sealing | Engineered secondary sealing process | Not required (native edge) |
For engineers evaluating both routes: cut panels are the pragmatic choice for custom or non-catalog aspect ratios, provided the cutting and sealing process meets your reliability bar — see the technical section below.
Technical Process & Reliability — Engineer & Project Manager FAQ
1. Cutting Process & Feasibility
Q: What cutting method do you recommend for our target dimensions and tolerance? We evaluate case-by-case based on final size, tolerance requirements, and panel layer structure:
Mechanical scribe-and-break (wheel cutting): cost-effective for straight-line cuts with standard tolerance (±0.3–0.5 mm), suited to higher-volume production.
Ultra-fast (UV/picosecond) laser cutting: recommended when the cut line is close to active circuitry, tolerance requirements are tight (±0.1 mm or better), or the cut geometry is non-linear. Laser cutting produces a cleaner edge with lower micro-crack risk, at a higher per-unit cost.
We will recommend the appropriate method once we review your target cut line against the panel's internal layout.
Q: Will the cut line interfere with the Gate/Source driving circuitry or the TFT array? This depends entirely on where your cut line falls relative to the panel's internal Gate driver IC/COF, Source driver IC/COF, and active TFT array region — these positions vary by panel model and manufacturer (BOE/LG/Innolux). Before confirming feasibility, we require:
Target final dimensions and cut-line drawing (DWG/DXF preferred)
Preferred mounting orientation and bezel/border requirements
Interface requirement (LVDS/HDMI/eDP) and resolution needed after cutting
Any keep-out zones dictated by your enclosure design
With this information, our engineering team performs an internal layout review against the mother glass's driver IC and array position to confirm whether the cut line is clear of active circuitry, or whether resolution/active-area adjustment is needed.
Q: What is your edge flatness and micro-crack control standard after cutting?Cut edges are inspected under magnification against an internal acceptance standard covering edge chipping depth, flatness, and crack propagation risk. Edge inspection reports and sample photos can be provided during the sampling stage for your qualification records.
2. Reliability & Edge Sealing
Q: What sealing process do you use to prevent liquid crystal leakage and moisture ingress at the cut edge?Cut edges go through a secondary sealing process — typically UV-cure dispensed edge sealant, applied and cured under controlled conditions, with the option of an additional moisture-barrier coating for humid or outdoor environments. The sealing width and material are selected based on your operating environment (indoor commercial vs. outdoor/semi-outdoor) and IP rating target.
Q: Can a cut TFT module pass standard reliability testing, and do you have reference test data from similar projects?Cut-and-sealed panels are qualified against consumer-grade or industrial-grade test protocols depending on the intended application — please specify which applies to your project so we align the test plan accordingly. Testing typically referenced includes:
High-temperature/high-humidity (e.g., "double-85": 85°C / 85% RH) storage and operating tests
Thermal shock / cold-hot cycling
Mechanical drop/structural shock testing (for the finished module or enclosure)
We can share test summary reports from comparable prior cutting projects (panel size, cut geometry, and sealing method) during the qualification phase — reach out with your target spec so we can identify the closest reference case.
Q: Does edge sealing introduce light leakage or Mura (color shift) near the cut edge?A well-controlled cutting and sealing process should not introduce visible Mura or light leakage under normal viewing conditions; this is verified at final optical inspection (uniformity and edge light-leak check under darkroom conditions) before shipment. If your bezel design fully covers the sealed edge, this risk is further minimized. We recommend reviewing first-sample units under your actual ambient lighting/bezel condition before locking production tooling.
3. Cost, Yield & Lead Time
Q: What is the NRE cost and sampling lead time for a new custom-cut project?NRE (cutting fixture setup, layout review, and first-article inspection) and sample lead time depend on cut complexity, tolerance, and whether laser or mechanical cutting is used. As a general guide:
Simple straight-line cuts with standard tolerance: shorter NRE and sample lead time
Complex geometry, tight tolerance, or laser cutting: longer engineering review and sample lead time
Please share your target quantity (e.g., 20 pcs for first sampling) and drawing so we can quote NRE and lead time precisely.
Q: What yield can we expect at mass production, and what is your MOQ?Mass-production yield for cut panels depends on cut geometry, mother glass consistency, and tolerance requirements — tighter tolerances and complex cut lines generally run lower yield than simple straight cuts. We share expected yield ranges and MOQ terms once your cut spec and target volume are confirmed, based on data from comparable past projects.
