Send Your Requirements · Request a Feasibility Review
Why Custom Bar Displays?
Product designers are moving away from the 16:9 screen. Retail shelf-edge strips, passenger-information bars, machine status bars, elevator and vending displays, and console or dashboard ribbons all need ultra-wide, slim formats that catalog panels don't offer.
Developing new glass for a low-volume, non-standard size usually means high tooling cost and long lead times. Cutting from a proven, mass-produced panel gives you:
| Traditional Custom Glass | Panel-Cutting Solution (Ours) |
|---|---|
| High NRE for new mask and glass | Lower NRE, built on proven mass-production panels |
| Long development cycle | Faster samples: typically 4–6 weeks |
| High MOQ | Flexible MOQ for project and mid-volume orders |
| Fixed to the original design | Length, height and aspect ratio tailored to you |
What We Can Deliver
Any Bar Size, Any Aspect Ratio
We start from large-format panels and cut to your target dimensions. Typical source panels:
| Source Panel | Example Bar Outputs (Reference) |
|---|---|
| 32" – 43" | 8.8", 10.3", 12.3", 14.9", 19.4", 23.1" bar formats |
| 49" – 55" | 28", 37", 42.7" (1/4 cut), 47" bar formats |
| 65" – 75" | 45", 54", 62" and longer bar formats |
| 86" and above | Extra-long bars for architectural and large signage use |
Final size options depend on the source panel's cell layout, driver IC position and your tolerance. Send us your target dimensions and we will confirm which source panel gives the best result.

Overview
The HT427HBM is a 42.7-inch stretched bar LCD with an active area of 1073.78 × 151 mm (aspect ratio ≈ 7.1:1). It is produced by precision-cutting a standard 49" a-Si TFT-LCD panel and rebuilding it as a fully sealed, tested LCM, so you get a non-standard form factor without the cost and lead time of a new-glass development.
Built on IPS technology (normally black, transmissive) with a WLED backlight, it delivers full 89° viewing angles in all directions, 16.7M colors and up to 1000 nits. That makes it suitable for sunlight-readable and brightly lit installations.
Key Features
Ultra-wide 7.1:1 format: fits shelf-edge, dashboard, control-console, elevator, and transit-information spaces where a standard 16:9 screen cannot.
High brightness, up to 1000 nits: dimmable/customizable from 300 to 1000 nits to balance readability and power.
IPS wide viewing angle: 89°/89°/89°/89° (typ., CR ≥ 10), with consistent color from any angle.
Flexible integration: LVDS module for OEM designs, or a ready-to-run kit with HDMI/VGA control board and 5-key OSD.
Higher-resolution option: 3840 × 540 for sharper text and graphics.
Industrial-grade construction: sealed cut edges, 0–50 °C operation, -20–70 °C storage.
Customizable: brightness, connectors, cable length, bracket, surface treatment, and firmware/OSD logo.

Engineering & Manufacturing Q&A
Cutting a large TFT panel down to a bar format takes careful process control. Below is how we handle the points our engineering and procurement customers ask about most.
1. Process Feasibility & Cutting
Which cutting method do you use?We select the method based on your dimensions and tolerance. Mechanical wheel cutting is the standard for straight-line cuts. Ultra-fast (picosecond) laser cutting is available for tighter tolerances, narrow borders, or special shapes. Standard cut tolerance is ±0.2 mm (tighter tolerances on request).
Will the cut interfere with Gate/Source routing or the TFT array?Cut lines are set outside the active area and the fan-out/lead area, keeping a safe margin from the seal line and array wiring. Before quoting, we review the original panel's cell drawing to confirm the cut line clears the Gate/Source traces, driver ICs and seal.
What do you need from us to confirm feasibility?
Your target outline dimensions, active area and tolerance
Preferred mounting and interface (LVDS, HDMI, VGA, other)
Brightness, operating-temperature and environmental requirements
Expected annual volume and application
If available: the panel model of your current display
We supply a 2D drawing, spec sheet and feasibility report before any sampling commitment.
What is the edge quality standard?
Glass edge chipping: ≤ 0.3 mm (no chips extending into the seal area)
No micro-cracks propagating toward the active area; 100% microscope inspection at incoming cut, with sampling checks under magnification
Edges are ground/polished where required by the design
2. Reliability & Sealing
How are the cut edges sealed against moisture and liquid crystal leakage? After cutting, the exposed cell edge is sealed with a UV-curable sealant, dispensed by automated equipment, then cured under controlled UV energy. Bead height and width are inspected to maintain a consistent, void-free seal. Where needed, a secondary moisture barrier and edge protection frame are added.
What reliability tests do the modules pass? Our standard validation plan for cut-and-sealed modules follows common industrial practice:
| Test | Condition | Duration / Cycles |
|---|---|---|
| High-temp storage | 70 °C | 240 h |
| Low-temp storage | -20 °C | 240 h |
| High-temp operation | 50 °C | 240 h |
| Low-temp operation | 0 °C | 240 h |
| Damp heat (double 85) | 60 °C / 90% RH (85 °C / 85% RH on request) | 240 h |
| Thermal shock | -20 °C ↔ 70 °C, 30 min dwell | 100 cycles |
| Vibration (packaged) | Per ISTA / IEC 60068-2-6 | Sine sweep, 3 axes |
| Drop test (packaged) | 76 cm, 1 corner / 3 edges / 6 faces | Per ISTA-2A |
| ESD | ±8 kV contact / ±15 kV air | Per IEC 61000-4-2 |
Test reports from comparable cut projects are available under NDA.
Is there a risk of light leakage or color shift (Mura) at the cut edge? The backlight and bezel are designed around the new cut dimensions, including light guide, reflector and frame light-shielding, so edge light leakage is controlled. Every module goes through 100% optical inspection (white/black/gray patterns) with acceptance criteria for Mura, edge brightness uniformity and color shift agreed in the spec.
3. Cost, Lead Time & Volume
| Item | Typical Terms |
|---|---|
| NRE / tooling | Project-based (jig, fixtures, backlight and bezel tooling); quoted after feasibility review and may be credited against volume orders |
| Sample lead time | 20 pcs in approx. 4–6 weeks after drawing and NRE confirmation |
| Mass-production lead time | Approx. 6–8 weeks after sample approval |
| Target production yield | ≥ 95% (cut-and-seal process, after ramp-up) |
| MOQ | 50 pcs per order (lower-volume trial orders considered case by case) |
| Warranty | 12 months |
Final NRE, MOQ and lead time depend on final specification and volume.
