OEM / ODM Custom Stretched Bar LCD Solutions – Any Size, Cut to Fit Your Design

Your product needs a display that fits the design, not the other way around. We cut, integrate and deliver bar-type TFT-LCD displays in virtually any size, aspect ratio and resolution, from a single prototype to volume production.

The Problem With Standard Panels

Standard LCD sizes are built for TVs, monitors and tablets. If you are designing a shelf-edge display, a control-panel header, a vehicle or elevator information strip, a medical device status bar or a kiosk fascia, catalog panels force compromises: wasted space, oversized bezels, redesigned enclosures, or an ultra-wide format that simply does not exist off the shelf.

Custom cut stretched bar displays remove those compromises. We start from high-quality mass-produced TFT-LCD open cells and re-engineer them into the exact dimension your project requires, with the cost benefit of proven panel technology instead of a costly new-glass development.

What We Can Deliver

CapabilityRange / Options
Bar ratioFrom ~3:1 up to 12:1 and beyond, per base panel and project
Diagonal sizeTypically 10" – 60"+ bar formats, cut from 15" – 86" open cells
Cutting width & lengthAny dimension within the selected base panel's usable area, subject to a routing review
ResolutionNative cut resolution (e.g. 1920×270, 1920×360, 1920×480, 1280×240) or up-scaled options such as 3840×540
Panel technologyIPS, VA, TN; a-Si TFT, transmissive
Brightness250 – 1500 nits (standard and high-brightness backlights)
InterfacesLVDS, eDP, HDMI, VGA, DP; MIPI / RGB on request
TouchProjected capacitive (PCAP), optically bonded
Operating temperatureStandard 0 ~ 50 °C; wide-temp (-20 ~ 70 °C) options on request

Every design is validated through an engineering feasibility review before quotation. Cutting is limited by the base panel's gate/source routing and seal layout, and we will always tell you clearly what is and isn't achievable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really make any size?We can cut to virtually any bar dimension that fits within a suitable base panel's usable area. The final limit depends on the panel's routing and seal layout, which we check during the feasibility review.

Do you need a full mechanical drawing to start? No. Approximate dimensions and application details are enough for a first assessment. A DXF / PDF / STEP drawing is needed for final confirmation.

Is a custom bar display more expensive than a standard panel?NRE and small-batch setup add cost, but at moderate volumes a cut bar display is usually far more economical than developing a new glass size, and it removes enclosure redesign costs.

Can the display work in bright or harsh environments?Yes. High-brightness backlights, optical bonding, AR/AG cover glass and wide-temperature options are available.

Will the display be available long term?We plan supply around the base panel lifecycle and can agree on last-time-buy and stock programs for long-life products.

Can you protect our design?Yes. We sign NDAs and can provide dedicated part numbers and exclusive tooling for your project.

37.4" Stretched Bar LCD Display – 1920×270, 500 nits, LVDS / HDMI-VGA Ready (Model HT374HBM)

Ultra-wide 7:1 IPS bar-type TFT-LCD module, cut from a 43" panel, engineered for industrial equipment, digital signage and healthcare interfaces. Available as a bare LCM or as a complete kit with HDMI/VGA control board.

Product Overview

The HT374HBM is a 37.4-inch stretched bar LCD built from a precision-cut 43" TFT-LCD open cell (1/4 cut). With a native 1920 (RGB) × 270 resolution and a 941.18 × 132.35 mm active area, it delivers a slim, ultra-wide viewing surface that fits where standard 16:9 panels cannot: shelf-edge displays, control-panel headers, vehicle and kiosk fascias, elevator and retail information strips, and medical equipment status bars.

The panel combines an IPS, normally-black, transmissive structure with 89°/89°/89°/89° full viewing angles, a 500 nits WLED backlight (customizable 300–1000 nits) and a standard 51-pin LVDS interface, so it integrates easily into existing platforms. For fast prototyping, an optional HDMI/VGA control board (DC 12V, OSD keypad) is available.

Key Benefits for Integrators

  • Ultra-wide 7:1 format – fills narrow mounting areas without wasted screen space

  • IPS wide viewing angle – consistent color and contrast from any position

  • 500 nits, customizable 300–1000 nits – suitable for indoor and semi-outdoor brightness requirements

  • Standard 51-pin LVDS – drop-in compatibility with common industrial SBCs and controllers

  • Optional 3840×540 resolution – higher pixel density for text-rich or UI-heavy layouts

  • Plug-and-play control board option – HDMI + VGA input, 5-key OSD, auto rotation

  • Customization-ready – size, brightness, cover glass, touch and bonding available on request

Custom Cutting Program – Engineering FAQ

Custom-size stretched bar displays are produced by cutting standard TFT-LCD open cells and re-integrating them with new drivers, backlights and control electronics. Below are the answers to the questions our engineering and procurement customers ask most often.

1. Process Feasibility & Technical Assessment

Which cutting method do you use?We select the method per project based on glass thickness, tolerance and layout. Mechanical wheel cutting is the standard for most stretched bar sizes; ultra-fast (picosecond) laser cutting can be applied when tighter tolerances or reduced edge stress are required.

Typical dimensional tolerance: ±0.2 mm (mechanical) / ±0.1 mm (laser), subject to design review.

Will the cut interfere with Gate/Source routing or the TFT array?Cut lines are defined only after a routing review. Cutting is executed outside the active area and outside the gate/source fan-out and shorting-bar regions, keeping a safe margin from the seal line and array circuitry. Where a cut would intrude into circuitry, the layout is redesigned or an alternative panel base is proposed.

What do we need from you for a feasibility review?

  • Target outline dimensions and active area (mechanical drawing, DXF/PDF/STEP)

  • Required resolution, interface and brightness

  • Target application, operating environment and expected volume

  • Preferred base open cell (or let us recommend one from our library)

We return a feasibility report, cut-line drawing and risk summary, typically within 3–5 working days.

Glass edge quality:Edges are ground and inspected under magnification. Our internal standard controls chipping and micro-cracks to ≤ 0.1 mm (typ.) on the edge and rejects any crack propagating toward the seal or active area.

2. Reliability & Edge Sealing

Sealing process:After cutting, the exposed cell edge is sealed with UV-cured edge-seal adhesive, applied with automated dispensing and fully cured, to block moisture ingress and prevent liquid-crystal leakage. Polarizers, FPC/COF bonding areas and the backlight interface are re-protected per module design.

Reliability testing (typical industrial-grade program):

TestTypical Condition
High temperature operation50 °C, 240 h
Low temperature operation0 °C, 240 h
High temperature storage70 °C, 240 h
Low temperature storage-20 °C, 240 h
Damp heat (85/85)60 °C / 90% RH, 240 h (85 °C / 85% RH available on request)
Thermal shock-20 °C ↔ 70 °C, 30 min dwell, 100 cycles
Vibration10–500 Hz, 1.5 G, X/Y/Z, 30 min per axis
Package drop1 corner, 3 edges, 6 faces, 80 cm

Reports and benchmark data from comparable cutting projects can be shared under NDA.

Optical performance after cutting:Light leakage and color shift near the cut edges are controlled through a light-shielding frame/tape design, optimized backlight alignment and 100% optical inspection (Mura, edge bright-line, uniformity). Typical brightness uniformity ≥ 75% (9-point).
